You can go through signing in to all the accounts you use at one time, or do this process more passively, as you sign in to websites normally! I’d recommend sitting down and doing your most commonly used accounts now, then collecting the rest in 1Password over time. The 1Password extension will pop up and allow you to Save Login with one click it detects when you sign in with new login details and automatically captures them.(Note: you may need to sign out of the site first, to be able to sign in.)

Set up the 1Password extension in Mac’s web browser following our guide to the extension for Mac here. All you’ll have to do is sign in to a website normally in your browser, and the 1Password extension will prompt you to save the new login it captured with one click. You can use the 1Password extension on your Mac to save Logins to your 1Password vault as you fill them with Apple Keychain in your browser. Here are the methods you can choose from: Semi-automatically I would expect both of these to take under a minute per account, and you can do them all at once or just as you go along using Apple Keychain for a bit longer (and gradually populate your 1Password vault). You can also manually find your passwords in the Keychain Access app on your Mac and copy-paste them in to 1Password manually, one at a time. Once you have the 1Password app and browser extension set up, there are a couple ways to move your passwords into your 1Password vault. There's no lock-in, because we believe your data is yours to keep. The good news is you'll only have to manually move things over this one time – once you're set up with 1Password, everything will sync between the 1Password apps on all your different devices, and you can always export your data from 1Password to a different password manager, even if your subscription is inactive. I know it sounds pretty daunting, but I can help you move everything over somewhat more manually (but without any errors getting in your way). (One thing, did you make sure to copy everything over from an iCloud Keychain to a local Keychain in Keychain Access?) MrC has done seriously amazing work but sadly iCloud Keychain increasingly just likes to generate errors during this kind of task :( Unfortunately, getting passwords out of iCloud Keychain is hard.
